Hospital lien record, 1955-[ongoing].

Any person, firm, corporation, or hospital authority operating a hospital in Alabama may place a lien against a person to whom medical care was furnished to collect payment and may have it filed in the office of the probate judge (see Ala. Code, 35-11-370 and 371 [1975]). This series consists of a transcription or photoduplication of lien instruments that state the name and address of the hospital, the operators thereof and the patient, the amount claimed, the date, and the names and addresses of those liable for damages. This record began in 1955 and continues to the present.
